Seems many others are asking the same question.
Since Videos are still more in demand by consumers we strongly suggest support a Video Blog, or Vlog as they are more commonly known. Anything video better serves your digital marketing needs. However, there is absolutely nothing wrong with creating a Podcast Show to go along with the Vlog.
Pre-2000, podcasts where very popular. Then, around 2010, the video technology open up and made it easier to create and post Vlogs into the social spaces.
Now, podcasting is coming back strong primarily due to the fact many people are able to access the internet in their cars which makes it easier to listen to podcasts on the commute to work than traditional radio talkshows.
Vlog are still holding their own and are much more in demand. This is primarily due to Vlog’s can add graphics and display information while the presenter is talking…more bang to the time available to consume the data.
We generally suggest to our clients to test both podcasting and vlogging for 6 months. Then evaluate which format produces the best results. Our studies are showing the ‘Vlog’ edging out podcasting, but not by much.
Consumer’s are interested in obtaining data quickly and from a trustworthy source. Vlog offer up not only a quick way to deliver a message but a glimpse of the character of the ownership of the business.
Vlog or Podcasting…they both work.
