Yes, it is that What Comes First question that has pelage business executives for hundreds of years. My rough survey shows that 85% of the 10 execs I asked this question to said they would hire sales since the revenue they produce could then be used to develop the digital marketing. Unfortunately, the 15% of those who said they would go for a digital marketing strategy first are probably thinking more logically.
A sales force increase would more than likely help in producing revenue, but over a long period of time would run out of gas since there is nothing backing up the sales person. Having a digital marketing strategy in place would insure there is at the very lease something for consumers to see online about the services or products you offer.
A well thought out video centric digital marketing strategy would help even more. Videos could be produced to expand upon the sales efforts or at least support the sales effort by being a back up to the sales pitch.
Overall, business leaders would be better off in the long run to spend their budgeted funds on a video centric digital marketing strategy.
